Waifuville AI generation hiccup

Hello chat,

The AI we use for generating character text has been a bit unstable the past 12 hours. I'm looking into ways to tweak it... We use Deepseek-V3 for this, for this purpose it's been far better than ChatGPT or some of the other AIs I tried, but they're not the most stable

Missions can't start if the AI is unavailable, apologies for that. It'll be fixed soon

Waifuville tweaks 🏙️

Hi chat, Waifuville just got some smaller tweaks thanks to community feedback! Feel free to share your thoughts in #wv-feedback on our Discord server.

• When you're moving a building, it'll no longer give an error if you're moving it on top of itself
• When a Mission is In Progress, the tab on the building will indicate that (instead of Mission Available)
• It will also show the icon of the Myfu on that mission
• Assigning a new Mayor will now update the text properly for tree cutting missions and such
• The map will now properly update once a building has finished building
• Negative Happiness/Negative Food Income after building something: this was actually only a visual bug that happened once a day some players noticed. It's been patched now.

TIP: Negative Happiness

It's normal that after a New Day, your Food and/or Happiness are much lower (due to population growth). This is just a new goal you need to meet to grow further 📈. It's a bit unintuitive and it's not explained very well yet, I'll add that soon(TM).

TIP: Building limits

Right now, you can't see the limits in the UI so here they are:

• Bar and Doctor: 3x
• Farms, Orchards, Ponds, Fountains, Recycling: 10x
• Houses: no limit
• Everything else: 1x

NEXT UPDATE

In the next big update, way more buildings will release with their own unique missions, like the Factory and the CHICKEN RESTAURANT The building picker will be upgraded as well.

📅 How Waifuville's Daily Cycle Works (and Why Your Population Suddenly Spiked)

Hey chat,

With Waifuville now in Early Access, I’ve seen a few recurring questions and wanted to clear things up — especially around what happens each day and why your village might suddenly look… a little chaotic.

🕕 The Daily Tick — What Happens at 6AM NYC Time?

Every day at around 6AM (New York time), a new Waifuville day begins. At that moment, a few important things happen for every village:

1. 🌱 Population Growth kicks in — your ville uses available Food and Happiness to attract new citizens.
2. 💰 Taxes are collected — based on your new population.
3. ⚖️ The balance shifts — more people means more income... but also more demands.

This can cause a bit of a rubber band effect — especially on your first or second day. One moment you're stable, the next your food and happiness drop into the red because your population grew too fast.

🤔 "Is This a Bug?" Nope — But It Might Feel Like One

I totally get it — it feels weird to go from a thriving town to suddenly having not enough food or unhappy villagers. But this is intentional. It creates a soft challenge:

• 🛠️ You can build or upgrade food/happiness buildings to support further growth.
• 💤 Or just let things stabilize — your population will decline a little until it finds a sustainable level.

That said, I agree it’s not super intuitive right now. I’m already looking into ways to:

• Smooth out the curve a bit more
• Make the daily tick system clearer in-game
• Possibly give players more control or visibility over how population growth happens
